I say a death blow, because contrary to popular belief over at HQ, the planes make the money here. ****ed off, unproductive pilots don't go above and beyond to keep the operation running. I think yesterday was the last straw for a lot of pilots who are going to make a personal choice to do the minimum of their job and let the system work from now on. This company used to be a lean machine, but when VFNs are going out and flights are being delayed hours or canceled, passengers regret that cheap fare and tell their friends on social media. This isn't a good time for an airline to **** off those who control their revenue, yet they keep doing it.
You're right, they will get pilots, but they won't be quality. Talk to some people involved with training the last few classes. a lot of them had issues.
