And he would be half right, the air filtration/humidity inside aircraft does not allow the virus to collect on surfaces. It doesn't transmit on aircraft because the contact vector is removed. However, airborne viruses like the flu, SARS1, the common cold, Tuberculosis(Bacteria), measles especially, can transmit to other passengers seated nearby. Contact viruses like norovirus, do not spread on aircraft, but rather in nursing homes, cruise ships, at parties, restaurants/bars, bathrooms, etc.
