Not to detail too much, but codeshares don’t really share revenue. If it is a revenue sharing operation, it is a joint venture. More accurately, it allows pax to book via their carrier of choice and have more frequency/destination options while remaining with their carrier of choice, and on the same itinerary, and often allows reciprocal frequent flyer earning and burning privileges.

Additionally for code sharing, the marketing carrier only receives a small amount of the revenue to cover the cost of advertising/booking the flight. There is no lucrative financial benefit to offering a codeshare.
