I think you misunderstood me, UA decided to close down ExpressJet, the reason for that can be debated to eternity. Reality is they did, according to rumors, Breeze showed some interest in taking over the certificate, however UALPA or ALPA wanted to force Breeze to take the pilots at ExpressJet even at current seniority and pay. And therefor the deal didn't happen.
