U-Haul is very market dependent. I can't speak to the trailer specifics as we only offer trucks at our dealerships. Some dealerships avoid trailers because of the additional PITA factor, which could be the case in your area. If you are in NYC, SFO or a few other similar areas, trailers/trucks can be hard to locate. In places like TX, FL, AZ trucks and trailers are plentiful. Just for fun compare the one way rates moving from NY to FL, Chicago to Austin or CA to AZ, then look at the reverse routing price. Airlines aren't the only industry who understands demand pricing.
