The ruling class is completely out of touch with reality. The wealthiest member of congress just released an ad claiming “she knows what it’s like waiting for a paycheck”. Her personal wealth is over a billion dollars, she used insider information to avoid some losses in the stock market and the rest of her cronies looked the other way.
Education Czar Betsy Devos made a ridiculous argument against any sort of debt relief for student borrowers claiming it would basically bring about the apocalypse. Never mind that her family fortune is directly derived from student loans. No conflict of interest there, eh?
