You missed the point. Envoy let's Swayne use company time to record content and use that content to make money through a third party not related to Envoy. Envoy only let him do it for free PR.
You can't just pick and choose who you let break the rules. If Envoy want promotional material they can pay for a professional company to do it.
It's like saying a pilot can use their laptop during cruise but only because they are writing a novel about the history of Envoy which they later sell to a publisher.
