Okay let’s blame the virus and pandemic.
Who could have mitigated the impact? The person in charge who serves the interests of the people. From the outset he downplayed it, called it a hoax, tweeted and wished it away.
People here were too busy acting entitled and barking about their freedom when they don’t even know how to exercise freedom responsibly. People here were too busy siding with him promoting conspiracy theories, refusing to social distance, not wear masks because he and his minions encouraged the behavior.
Other countries actually managed to contain the virus and take measures to overcome it until a vaccine was created. You know how that works? By people listening and working together to overcome a common enemy.
Countries like UAE, New Zealand, countries in Africa, heck even China where the virus came from handled it better than we did. They put rules in place and enforced them strictly with no exceptions.
What America needed when this pandemic hit was the unity that brought people together on September 12th, 2001 and we didn’t have that. To this day misinformation, conspiracy theories, entitlement and plain stupidity keep screwing this country.
Every business (not just airlines) and individual got hammered here because the elected representatives didn’t do their damn job when they had to.
300,000 deaths and the ongoing ****show could have been mitigated but his supporters will never get that.
