Default Realism

...as for pathetic, what is pathetic, is that so called young-bloods, persumably like you, are so afraid that the 60 rule will go away, and with your limited abilities, you wont be able to hold your own, that you have resorted to calling older pilots morons.

By your profile, you did not fly military. I have flown with many men over fifty pulling a lot of g's and moving very fast. They don't perform as well physically as the 22 year olds...period..dot...no questions about it. However, their experience in the air gives them an edge in situational awareness. This is dependent that their mind is still fit. Besides, this advantage only lasts for a short period while the younger pilot gains experience. By the way, military pilots "compete" for positions. We are airline pilots and "holding your own" is a silly statement. Kind of like the people that brag how they "upgraded" to captain ahead of many others. Wow, they got hired first and bid it....tough competition. They must have hands of gold to do that. People, please be honest with yourselves and recognize that a 60 year old physically and assuming all else equal (education...etc.), is not as sharp or strong as a 25 year old.
