Nobody really “works for free”. You might make some choices that end up having you (God forbid) WORK for the pay you receive.
Having said that....I’m a big fan of work rules that keep us protected, and soft time is tha shizz......but let’s not act like somebody who picked up is somehow being wronged by the recipients of CARES money. We should ALL be hoping for this nightmare to end, and have to start working again.
Pilots, in general, are way too focused on what somebody else is getting instead of what’s right in front of them. Two dogs with a full bowl of food in front of them, eating voraciously, staring the whole time at the other bowl wondering why it MIGHT have a few more pieces of kibble in it.....GMAFB
You're keeping it 100, as the kids say. You're not "working for free". You're just actually earning your pay, rather than getting paid for not working. I have no problem working for my money. Especially, if it means that I make over 73 hours of pay.
