Or they don’t want to get burned like I did out of the left seat a while ago. The classic, “yeah lets just get type 1 to save some time (maybe 5 minutes), taxi up to the runway, BOOM starts snowing barely. “Well I guess we’re heading back”. Oh, the best part, costed us another 25 and we were late. After that experience it changed my mindset.
Oh and btw, with the winter block DL adds into ETA, an extra 5 minutes for type 4 doesn’t effect on time performance.
Another factor, being to early presents waiting for a gate, and upsets passengers, as they’ve already felt we’ve arrived. Essentially It makes Delta look unorganized from an operational standpoint.
But in your reference to SkyWest, they do everything slow so that shouldn’t surprise anyone.
