ARE. I have many
non stop flights over 28 hours. Everybody gets tired. The older guys just don't do as well the longer the time gets. This doesn't mean that there are not very good and qualified guys that are 60. Do you actually beleive the older you are, the more healthy you get? As pilots we have to be physically and mentally heathy..not one or the other, both. What will be the next push...fly until you are 70. There has to be a limit somewhere. I would venture to say the great Bob Hoover would admit he is not as skilled as he once was. I do respect your opinions though..old fella.

Just a curiosity question, where do you fly to that takes 28 hours in 121 ops? I've flow over ALL the ponds and it never took that long.
I cut & pasted to show that you contradicted yourself. Youngster.
Please do not read between my lines. "Do you actually beleive the older you are, the more healthy you get?" No. I said "... fit for his/her age ..."
So at what age is it that you are both physically and mentally peaked? That is the best pilot, I agree. Realistically though 121 carriers cannot hire on that age because we do not know it.
Tell us when does the young pilot turn into the 'older guys"? Is it based on age?
I do agree with your long flights comment, I left the airline that did that for one that did not.
Take care young pup.
