They are. Pre COVID hundreds of pilots a year were leaving Atlas and few were showing up for new hire classes. Now classes are full and they have thousands of apps on file. That has emboldened the company to offer only overall pay cuts. They refuse to discuss anything else with a $ cost attached to it.
Of course when the pandemic is over and hiring resumes elsewhere the stampede for the exits will resume, but management will be all smiles. They'll have have their pilots locked in to > 50% below market pay for the next decade.
This 1000%. UPS & FedEx are still hiring. And it will be very competitive to get on there. If a pilot wants a “career” they need to get on over there ASAP
Feb will be D-Day for the Atlas Air/Southern pilots.
