Why would anyone with good seniority choose to be the PLUG, just to be on a new airplane? The plug is almost universally a position pilots don't want to be.
Why would you want to be the PLUG on the A220 instead of 20-30% off the bottom, or better, on the A320 Roy?
I haven't heard anything about the bid results but I can answer your question. Some guys just need to be in the first class. Do you know how to find out if you are flying with someone who was in the first or second 190 class? They'll tell you. They see it as a badge of honor. I'm not sure why. Maybe it makes them feel like they were test pilots.
