In 5 years, I've never put anybody on my no-fly list at DAL. There was one candidate, but I moved bases and no longer had the risk of flying with him.
Like Bar said, if you can find a disliked captain with whom you can deal (or, better, understand) it can work for you. I've one it as well.
Call it 300 captains in my short tenure here, there are a handful that I didn't enjoy working with. As all the others have said, it is the very opposite of office politics. More like 1000 first dates; spend three days with somebody and decide if you want to keep their number. There have been a few text strings that my wife has enjoyed as I've vented, but just a few.
