Nothing partisan, just an example. I didn't see any images of assault rifles in DC, that was a rally/protest which turned into a riot, not a pre-meditated action to seize and control anything... they got cleaned out pretty quickly, if they had been serious they would have come armed, taken congress-critters hostage and probably still be there (surrounded by the US army).

Indeed. In addition to UCMJ/pension issues, you're on the hook for your company's brand image as well as FAA admin actions, ATP good moral character and medical certs. The good moral character clause is rarely applied but I bet if the executive branch pressured the FAA to pull out all the stops they could make it stick if you got convicted of a federal crime.

I'm sure some of the people who got arrested tend bar or drive a fork-lift in a warehouse, but the media doesn't bother reporting what they do or who they work for. Pilot and/or mil officer on the other hand...
