I’m going to go with wait. The less check rides you have to do in general aviation the better in my opinion. Too many ego’s, you seem to train to the individual evaluators standards on top of the practical test standards in GA. In a part 121 training environment they have an incentive to pass you. In my opinion, GA check rides are more of a roll of the dice for pink slips.
While I agree that GA checkrides are wildly different in different parts of the US or bewteen DPE’s the CTP course isn’t a checkride in any sense of the imagination. You would have to try very hard to “fail” it. I’m not even sure if you can.
