Technically all true. But the company will probably not see it that way, at least not to the extent of non-reving to Europe for two weeks with a sick call or two in the middle somewhere. That kind of thing, and being out of position on reserve, is where the real trouble starts... if the sick call amounted to lying, and they can prove it, you can get fired on the first offense.
But even if they can't prove it, they'll still remember for next time. Knew a guy, claimed his 'roids were acting up, doc said don't spend a lot of time sitting so he called in sick and went skiing. Might even have been legit, but he got on the company radar for sure with that one. That's really the point, stay anonymous so if you ever do get in a real bind you might get some human empathy from a manager or two... as opposed to gleeful excitement because they got you now.
