Does anyone feel that SkyWest may be added to the list of UAX carriers to fly for when in Aviate? Of the three current ones, two of those futures seem dicey in the long run with their fleet type and Aviate is a long term United plan. So does it seem logical that SkyWest would be added? Is it something SkyWest itself would/(n't) want? It's already a Delta Propel carrier. Just a question to think about for the long term of United hiring.
I highly doubt it tbh. SkyWest supposedly has been offered a flow by United in the past and management turned it down. UA has also attempted to buy SkyWest on multiple occasions and obviously the answer was no. I’ve heard this from separate crew members I’ve flown with, also a couple of times by our ground school instructors. The only individuals who could confirm the claims made above would be management.
Right before $hit hit the fan SAPA sent out an email survey on “Flow”, including listing 1-5 top airlines you’d want to “Flow” too. That email came directly after announcements made by DL and UA making claims they needed to hire 1,000’s of pilots to keep up with demand in the next X years (forgot the specifics).
I don’t think SAPA would have sent out an email like that if those type of talks were not being pushed through management. At this moment in time I could give a rats ass about flow or aviate, I’m just happy to have a job.
