As MoP stated your are incorrect.
The currency issue was a real one, but it never got spun off as a separate fleet and it could be flown concurrent with the 757-200/300/767-300.
Dulles never had the majority of the 767-400 flying, let alone all of it, that would be EWR. The plane would come and go based on network planning, and manpower planning sometimes would have EWR crews do W flying so they would do IAD departures on the 767-400 (EWR-MUC-IAD-MUC-EWR for example). iAD crews would do the same, but out of EWR, at times as well.
and right now no one is getting the 767-400 pay (same as 787/777 pay) at UAL as all of them are in long term storage.
