Just think about it - everyone jokes about the 190 - JB express, etc. and yes, we somehow allow them to put us in ****ty ass regional hotels, too, but that’s a different thread... And yes, rumor has it that the 190s days are numbered, but it ain’t over til it’s over - no reason to hasten it...
My point is - it’s a valuable airframe because it’s flown at a real airline under a real airline contract at real airline pay (spare me, you know what I mean). Now we can outsource it all to a slightly smaller but similar airframe to pilots paid significantly less (who, like most of us here, would rather be flying at the real airline at much higher pay).
This agreement will almost certainly hasten the demise of the 190 and all those lower seniority captain slots. Why fly short hops on a significantly more expensive 190 when you can replace it with a 175 at a fraction of the cost?
For what? A one time insulting bump of 2%? How did this make it out of the MEC?
As a pilot flying the 175 at the regional that's expanding in LGA in preparation for the results of this B6 pilot group vote I sincerely hope it's a no. You are spot on with your assessment. It boggles my mind what your MEC was thinking sending it out 12-2
