I searched the forum already, looking for any more specific and updated info. ANC is a much farther commute for me, but if it offers better rosters, such as long stretches of days off and fewer commutes per month, it would be worth it. So what do the rosters look like for junior pilots on those 2 fleets/bases? Can ANC newbies reliably get duties grouped in large chunks, such as 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off? Thanks for any help!

ANC 747
• primarily international
• as newbie it might be hard to get 2-weeks on 2-weeks off schedules unless you get reserve. Typical reserve schedules are 2-weeks on-2-weeks off. Reserve can go very senior during the hunting and fishing season, holidays, etc. (folks looking for specific days off)
Also, VTO lines can be surprisingly ‘good’ - which is a relative term at brown.
• laissez-faire style management (most of the time), fly the boxes and they leave you alone
• pretty tight community,
much better looking pilots

SDF MD11
• primarily domestic
• most of MD pilots are ‘big-boned but with good personality’
• their hearing is intact
• they wear sweaters

Keedin’ about the MD,
Bunch of great folks there too, pros and cons for each fleet. If you have long commute SDF would definitely be a much better choice.
Hope someone from the Tritanic fleet will chime in..
