Restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, mom & pop stores, bars, etc were all forcibly closed. Their employess (tens of millions of them) lost their jobs, health insurance, etc. Many of those jobs will never come back.

The quote in question was in response to those that seem to imply COVID is being used to target businesses under the guise of constitutional erosion or an unnamed nefarious plan. I'm not a fan of the lockdowns and the domino effects they had since we did it all half-arsed. My wife was one of the millions furloughed so you can relax.
I'm just as upset at the economic impact as most everyone else, though I'm in the it was due to a flubbed response camp than the conspiracy camp.
