The primary function of masking is to protect others from yourself in the case you're an asymptomatic carrier. If you're looking to protect yourself from COVID-19 by wearing mask in the flight deck with the door closed you'll need at least a N95, SN94, or KN95 mask. Those masks will leave temporary lines on your face after extended use.

Lets face it (no pun intended), N95 masks were never meant for prolonged use. It is meant for the medical worker going in to see a patient, a painter about to do some house work, etc.
This thing isn’t meant for more than a couple hours. I have a couple N95 masks. No way could I do with wearing one for 8+ hrs.
