As a PPL student with about 15 hours logged, I am getting ready to take my written at the end of this month. The manual E6B is driving me crazy. I'm sure I can pick it up eventually, but would like to buy an electronic one. I know that you can use them on the written. But, I have heard stories that examiners like to "fail" the electronic E6B's during flight to make you calulate on the manual one.

Does anyone have any insight or thoughts into this? I'm sure I'll get my share of "Just learn the manual one".
