Battery-powered VTOL aircraft capable of carrying passengers any kind of practical distance are not anywhere close to being feasible.

However, that doesn't stop the litany of companies out there from touting how close they are to making eVTOL a reality. Certification and flying are always "just a few years away." Yet, when you try to find actual, no-kidding footage of these in use, I think the most accomplished company has managed a couple of 50' hops off the runway for mere minutes at a time.

The technology isn't there. It likely never will be. But those realities don't generate clicks on CNN.
