I’m sorry if this sounds crude but at this stage in the game you should not be looking at quality of life but at making it work.
Get into Instrument and Multi engine instruction and go as fast as you can.
No Regional requires a degree but they do require flight time so don’t slow down at 1200 hrs either.
Put your degree on a back burner for now as well as your side gig unless it makes a huge amount of money.
You are 6-8 years away from a position that requires a degree.
Get paid 8hrs/day at the other location and spend the rest of the time tending to your wife.
Yes im going to say it, you should have waited with kids for a year if not two.
Too late for that now..not my decision.
