If anyone can go "full green" without nuclear power, it's Germany. They're smart, industrious, and wealthy. Very ambitious targets; jury still out on if they can totally eliminate coal, natural gas, and oil. But the trend is the "right" direction.

If anyone can build high-tech, lower risk, waste fuel eating nuclear reactors, it's China. Their massive in-country infrastructure projects are on a whole other level (high speed trains, massive cities, hydro electric dams, etc.).

As long as the rapidly de-industrializing world is sending it's manufacturing (and pollution) to China, why not root for China to find cleaner power to make all the things?

For the rest of the world, Generation III and Generation IV nuclear power plants are probably the best option for greening. Esp. if the electric autos come online in any significant numbers in a short timeframe.

(There's about a billion caveats to the above; that's just the general trend as I read it)
