No, the feds saved everyone’s jobs. The only month we were under LOA protection was November. In that month, pilots who would potentially have been furloughed received 2 weeks of pay. Many of those would have qualified for furlough pay, anyway (which is not to minimize the emotional stress of spending a month under furlough), so crediting the LOA with saving their jobs is pretty dubious.

As for the raise, we don’t have it yet, but it’s looking increasingly like we may get to that point without enduring much of the LOA concessions. If, indeed, the feds get us to the end of this crisis having only relied on LOA job protection in November ‘20 & come out with a 5% raise, that will be enough for this no voter to call it a win.

But for me, that only really means it was a good gamble- not a good contract.
