This is exactly right. The LOA didn’t save jobs, the terms that came with the federal bailout money did. Had that money not been available, the LOA would have saved jobs until June. The company has displaced crews into the NB fleets and we are in a position to furlough if needed. Thankfully, the government cheese bought us enough time where we probably won’t need to. The LOA added a few permanent contractual improvements and gave displaced pilots pay protection, but it isn’t responsible for saving jobs.
