The facts are that the pipeline university cadets at Envoy have far and away exceeded their initial expectations. In fact, it went so well that the bar had to be raised. Significantly. These cadets were flying circles around military aviators and Part 91 Joe's. I know, I've seen the stats. Essentially, the university trains them for a 121 flying career and they literally show up on day one and hit the ground running. The other motivator here is a career at American Airlines right out of the gate. So you can say that AA has actually done far better at hiring the university aviators than Delta as was mentioned in an earlier post. AA figured out this little secret when they saw how well the pipeline cadets were performing. After finally flushing all the lifers out in the future, I can see Envoy being 100% pipeline cadets.
Getting on at American “right out the gate.” FYI the gate is about 9 years. 5.5 at the lowest and that is long gone now. I’ve read on here that no one hired at “Envoy” (post Eagle name change) has flowed to AA. However, I do actually agree that 141 university programs do a better job at preparing new 121 regional FOs.
