I don't travel in my electric, it adds way too much time to a road trip. For my typical truck use the lower range would not be a problem. The problem for me would be the price for the trucks. Seventy to eighty thousand to go to lowes and get a few pieces of lumber or some mulch or a trip to the landfill is out of bounds. For my trucks I am a wind down windows and rubber floor mat guy. Still pizzed you can't get a manual transmission any more.
I get the road trip range problem. One of our regular road trips requires 300 miles between supercharger access, so we generally take an SUV to avoid slower charging options. If we can make trips with just one supercharger stop, the Model S is our go to vehicle. The 500 mile Cybertruck will replace the SUV while also taking the top (bottom) spot in 0-60 times within the garage.
