non native flora and fauna is detrimental to any native environment and the pythons are doing some serious damage for sure. Sugar is a serial polluter and combined with the alteration of the natural water flow to accommodate the sugar industry is absolutely destroying estuaries up and down the east and gulf coasts due to high nutrient polluted water being diverted to the coasts, crippling the Everglades and Florida Bay due to lack of fresh water flow and high salinity in the Bay. That trickles to the coral reefs in the keys.
There are other external issues but sugar is the single largest problem facing Florida and the country’s second largest national park.
