Norwegian didn't have any wide bodies in 2012. Two years later ALPA was devoting a lot of time and money to fight them. Neos sees a gap in the market, and can acquire the airplanes relatively cheap. They may be gearing up for a bigger expansion.
And Delta has lost a bundle betting on foreign airlines. And Norwegian wide body flying folded on its own. They have a fleet of 11 aircraft counting the ex-Norwegian aircraft.
I like our chances if we just ignore them and concentrate on doing what we do economically, efficiently, and professionally.
