Long story short bottom price won and I collected unemployment from the state of Virginia. Airline management are scum, ALPA is impotent, if you dont like sell stocks. But dont bash other pilots for feeding their families. It was never your flying, its Uniteds
So now we got to the point in the thread where people are defending the scabs with the feed their family argument ( see my first post in this thread)
So you guys don't think that the TSA pilots who were sticking it out for higher pay weren't trying to feed their families. I'm afraid they were but they were trying to hold out for that better pay until the scabs (TSA pilots who went to gojets) crossed the union lines and cheated everyone out of the higher pay. I agree management are scum because they thought of the gojet idea, but that doesn't mean that pilots had to buy into it and sell out. Thus, the pilots who cheated Everyone out of the higher pay are no better than management themselves.
I think that treating Gojet pilots the way that the majority of pilots do is great. It acts as a great deterrent to future scabs who are willing to fly for less money and worse work rules. I know I would ever cross the union line for that exact reason.
Exactly. Let's face it, just about every regional was/is at one time or another "hated" by some other regional for "taking its flying." When I was at Eagle, we said (and some continue to say) the same things about TSA and CHQ, that TSA guys are now saying about GoJet, and even had a sticker that looks comically similar to the one I've seen about "No Alter Ego Jets," or something to that effect.
The second we stop pointing the finger at the pilots of whatever regional happens to be the scapegoat of the time, the sooner we all make a step toward real progress.
The Gojet argument isn't about them taking TSA's flying, its about them willing to work for less and cheating everyone at TSA out what they have worked hard for.
As far as the supposed airlines taking other airlines flying argument, I would agree with you. I believe thats what happens in a free economy, when a contract is up and a company can do a better job than the previous then the better company should get the contract. This is different in the sense that they are different company's not a faction of a company willing to fly the route for less money while the other half of the company refuses to.
