If that $5k bonus gets them former 121 guys who will likely all pass in the minimum amount of sim time, then it is most likely cheaper in the end than offering ATP/CTP to candidates new to 121 only to have 20% of them fail out after spending a significant amount on each in sim training. Also I’m sure the bonus has strings attached...like you are not vested in it until you hit some milestone. When they pay for ATP/CTP that money is spent. My ATP/CTP class had two individuals that later failed out of training. That’s money the company lost with no return on investment. It’s clear that at this time they are not willing to take that financial risk.
