It was a little less than off the street numbers. Like 50-60%

BUT.
  1. Very few people had completed their second attempt, and those that attempted had a much higher rate 70-80% if I recall
  2. The first people to go through were the most senior, many of which already had 2 fails on the ssp interview process. These guys were unfortunately going to be a long shot anyway.
  3. Theoretically the success rate SHOULD be lower than OTS. Because Delta had to interview ALL of our dgi applicants even the ones they would have never called in the first place off the street.
  4. They just added the extra interview point and removal of the written exam before covid. That should have increased the numbers a little.
I don't agree with the premise that your chances are better elsewhere of getting the job. That would mean somehow working for another airline would make you a better pilot or interview. Remember that if any airline chooses to call you, they've already made a decision that you're probably a good fit, but need to verify it in the interview. That vetting process didn't occur with the DGI.

I also don't agree that your chances of getting the interview are better ots. Because if your resume is good enough to get called you can still apply ots while working here and get called outside of the DGI. I know several people that have done this. And per the terms of the DGI Delta "must" interview a certain percentage of endeavor captains in their interview groups, and they "must" fill a certain percentage of class seats with us too.

Now the legitimate criticism of the program.... It's not contractual! They can do whatever they want with it. Even kill it. I would ONLY recommend coming here for the DGI if you don't think you're strong enough on paper to get the call, but think you're strong enough in person to nail the job. I know a few people that would never have been called, but killed the interview and got on.

No one should come here exclusively for the DGI. It's not a great program if only because it's non-contractual. I'm not defending the success rate, I think it should've been higher. But I understand why it wasn't at the start. It had been slowly getting better over time.

I have a sneaky suspicion something better is coming. But I'll hold off speculating for now
