You're right here. The only reason airlines were paying for ATP-CTP in the first place was to get pilots in the door. Now there are a decent few on the street with an ATP already. They will get picked up first anyway. They will have higher pass rates in training and cost less to hire on. It really sucks for those with pre-covid CJOs, but unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about that. I think eventually airlines will be paying for ATP-CTP again, but not for at least a few months until the hiring frenzy dies down.
