That would make sense. Since you would think poor people generally drive smaller cars, I'm surprised they haven't already done that. Or maybe it's already baked into the formula?
One of the benefits of EV is the lack of smog and having a much cleaner source of energy. So, while not all EV pay for the roads they also don't contribute near as much to the carcinogens and pollutions spewed by ICE cars that cause a myriad of raspatory and health problems. How much of a tax should the ICE drivers be made to pay to make up for the health problems they cause?

I also don't see many EV people saying they shouldn't pay for their use on the roads but to pay a higher amount than what is collected by the gas tax is just a cash grab by greedy politicians.
