But FWIW, I was hired in 2001 with 3600TT, 2600 multiengine-turbine and 500 PIC in the ATR72. I had a degree and was 30. I knew nobody, but went to a pilot hiring convention and hit it off with one of their recruiters (a 767 Checkairman), who to this day is a good friend.

Networking was probably what got me in with only 3600.
