That is sage advice.
I started this about 5 years ago. My family and I treat United as a second job, or second career. Being dependent upon management to avoid financial doom, liquidity shortfalls, or their response to Geo-political issues (which to be fair is impossible to predict), world dis-order as in Pandemics (which to be fair is impossible to predict)...It's all about being dependent or not. I get it. Business is a risk. A large business is a big risk. We, are just widgets here at this airline. Our family's and our kids are not. Some how, some way, it is prudent to take proactive precautions to protect your family from others economic decisions. Don't be a slave to the airline. Get some freedom by embarking upon another endeavor that helps protect your bottom line. 14 years to go.
