I hear you. Didn’t actually bust mine but did close to the same thing. Never again. Had a dive student once who said he was fine with just a bit of the sniffles. There was a pretty grotesque stream of bubbles when his ear drum ruptured.
Hopefully this whole COVID saga gives the union some leverage to reform verification rules. This whole doctors note thing is ridiculous, we are the best pilots on earth (according to the JFK sign) not high school students. I can’t imagine the company would like the PR of trying to minimize sick leave after a global pandemic. They’ll probably still try though.
