Taken out of context and I did offer up an apology for that statement. As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm fine with the change. But just so its fair to those who knew full well that they would be retiring when they hit 60, make it effective only to those Pilots hired by any airline one day AFTER its enacted.
That way, those of us who have planned properly for retirement can do so and still gain seniority while those above us leave. What's so unfair about that?
This is by far the best post that I've read on any of the age 60 threads on this forum. My wife and I have spent the past 30 years geared for an age 60 retirement for me. I just don't want the rules changed with less than 5 years to go. Grand-father those of us who were smart enough not to rely on our airlines for 100% of our retirement.
