Any female or minority reading this thread would definitely think twice about coming to work in this industry. If this is the attitude of their future "coworkers", why would they want to become an airline pilot and have to sit for several hours in a small space with some of you who definitely don't want them there or assume they are inferior. I'm a minority by the way, have been an airline pilot for over 20 years, and can't wait until several of my colleagues with horrible people skills who are unsympathetic and unwilling to accept others reality of living in America retire.
The only attitude anyone here is exhibiting is an utter disgust with the possibility (likelihood) of a minority candidate receiving preferential treatment over a more qualified “non-minority” candidate for no other reason than to check a box.
If I were a minority, I would be extraordinarily angry that these majority white companies with their boards comprising of a majority of rich white men feel like they have a savior complex and that I need a handout to get my foot in the door.
How absurd to believe these people are otherwise incapable of making it in this industry.
