Over the next ten years, they plan to find from a population of 330 million, 2,500 women & people from minority demographics, train them to fly to FAA standards, and give them a chance to interview for a position at UAL. I also have significant issues with the way we are hiring. To put an emphasis on hiring from Aviate completely disregards the effort that many have already committed to this process when the rules were different. United unilaterally shut down tsa and expressjet. We (United) basically vertical filed the careers of many well established aviators, and continue to do so through the Hogan test. I have many friends who are far better people and aviators than I that have been passed over by the Hogan test. Until we fully employ those that have been fighting for a chance at UAL for in many cases decades, I just don’t see the need for Aviate.
