Sounds like you're confusing equality of opportunity with equality of outcome.
There already is equality of opportunity. Anyone, male or female, of any color, has the opportunity to apply at United Airlines.
Forcing the 50% female/color narrative forces the outcome of being awarded an interview.
And let me be clear, if UAL was saying we are going to award interviews to XX% white males, I would be equally opposed to it.
Let's also be clear that this is a zero sum dynamic, for every candidate accepted, another is turned down, there are not unlimited slots.
The exclusions of our profession should be purely based on qualifications and competence. Period.
Any forced outcome of being awarded an interview based on gender or color, male/female/white/black or otherwise is clearly discriminatory.
