Yeah, and they have saved countlees lives fron doing so. IMHO, it is possibly one of the most selfelss acts of airsafety in recent history. UAL showed their arse just so someone else may possibly not have the same problem. Maybe other airlines didn't have the exact same problem, but they all dang sure took noticed and did a self review. I doubt in this environment of CYA these days you'll see anyting as extraordinary any time soon.
