I’ve got two little girls at home. Ive given hundreds of flight deck tours to kids, and even if you add them up they wouldn’t be as impactful to a little girl as seeing someone that looks like them. Why do women only make up seven percent of airline pilots? It’s probably because many of them never saw it as an option when they were growing up. It’s the same for people of color. United is going to hire the most qualified candidates. It’s going to to take them longer to find them but I’m glad we’re the ones breaking the cycle.
Wrong every female had the same opportunity as every male. every race had the same opportunity as whites. It comes down to drove dedication and exploration for career choices.
For example this white male came from a middle class background paid for it all myself every step of the way with no help and you want to know how many times I saw a flight deck? Well I'll put it this way day one of airline ground I found out they use a tiller to steer.
