"Nobody said anything about lowering standards , and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone even took offense to that statement either, because it seems as though that due to the fact that one is a person of color they must be less qualified to hold the position at hand."

If United’s hiring practices in the past were not as egalitarian as the quota they are referencing for their future hiring, that means they engaged in discrimination of females and people of color all along. Since they are claiming that all of these new hires will either meet or exceed qualifications and merit, that means one of two things: My aforementioned statement is accurate, or they are changing AKA lowering standards and merit for hiring qualifications. It is impossible on its face for one or both of these statements to be untrue.

"Last I checked, there’s still a stigma about black people, if there wasn’t one wouldnt of mentioned anything about “lowering standards”."

Funny how you revert to "black people" when none of United's statement referenced black people in particular. Who is projecting stigmas, again? Fact of the matter is its inherent to lower standards and/or merit to make a concerted effort to hire 1/2 of your work force to meet a female/person of color quota. If there was no lowering of standards, the people of color and women would be there at United already. To suggest otherwise denies logic and is moronic.

"Vent on here I guess, because you never would do it in front of them because you’d scatter like roaches and we’d all be hearing crickets."

Why would anyone dare question a modern day, woke premise? So they could be branded a racist, misogynist white privileged bigot and be suspended without pay while they attend "sensitivity/diversity training, if they are not outright fired and have their career and life ruined?

There is nothing progressive or equal about this absurd PR move by United - and PR move is exactly what it is. Hiring people based on their genitalia or color of their skin is the exact opposite of progress and is fundamentally bigoted. To apply this type of logic and hiring practice to a major airline, well...there is only so much an AP can do.
