If it's as simple as "checking a box" then why are there so many black regional captains who show up at OBAP year after year but still aren't at mainline? Do they all have DUIs and multiple checkride failures?

The reason the organizations are needed in the first place is very nuanced and I doubt you care. But the fact is, the United app asks if you are a member of professional partner organzations like OBAP/WIA. It doesn't say "don't select this if you're a white male, though."

Absolute, utter, bull. Who shunned him? Did the president of OBAP walk past all the other various White, Black, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Asian, and other participants to your "person" and ask him to leave?

Or was he "shunned" because he didn't walk out with a mainline job... Because, you know, all you have to do is show up the and be brown and you'll walk out with a job, right?

Were you there with him to validate his story? This is a pretty big claim you've made, towards an organization that strives for inclusion of ALL races.

If you've ever been to any of these events (doubtful), you'd see that there is no one at the door checking and shunning... But keep telling that story though!

An organization that calls itself the BLACK PILOTS ASSOCIATION does not strive for the inclusion of all races. IT IS RIGHT THERE IN THEIR NAME if you can't see that then I won't even sell you the bridge as you don't seem to understand basic grammar and would probably end up naming it "coloreds only bridge" then have to explain that you are just joking and the bridge is striving to include all people regardless of color.

Why did a white guy join OBAP? If OBAP is a black pilots association and the airlines are tripping over themselves to get black pilot why do you need an organization that put others ahead of those who aren't members? Is there a secret handshake with the airline recruiters to get people get hired?

Would OBAP be the epitome of black privilege? When all the airlines will interview any minority candidates with less time and experience than the white candidates. Adding another organization to promote their skin pigment just seems elitist and redundant.
